Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) for Information, has revealed that the World Bank (WB) is investing US$2 billion in Pakistan.

Addressing a press conference along with Punjab Livestock Minister Sardar Hasnain Bahadur Dreshak here on Tuesday, she said that under that investment programme, 5G targets had been set.

She said that 5 G targets include education for girls, rising health, green clean Pakistan, governance and stunting inclusive development.

She said that, under the supervision of the Punjab Chief Minister, the WB will provide financial assistance to address challenges related to tourism, livestock, agriculture, education, construction and e-governance.

She said the realization of the digital Punjab dream would ensure accountability and corruption elimination.

The Punjab Livestock Minister said that the lack of data has always created barriers to the use of available resources and the achievement of desired objectives.

He said that the government of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Pakistan had worked a lot on the preparation of livestock policies and was committed to completing the work as early as possible.

He said the Department of Livestock was focusing on vaccinating and protecting animals from diseases.

For smooth work and better use of resources, he added, managing population growth was important.

He said attempts were being made to vaccinate animals to protect them from diseases of the foot and mouth.

The Minister claimed that the lack of certification of animals for foot and mouth diseases was an impediment to exports. He said steps were being taken to train veterinary doctors according to the principle of housework.
