BOI invites Danish investors, enterprises to bring investment in Pakistan

On Thursday, State Minister/Chairman of the Investment Board (BOI) Atif R. Bokhari invited Danish businessmen and businesses to bring investment and joint ventures (JVs) to Pakistan to improve economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Atif Bokhari reiterated that the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are open to all for investment and urged Danish companies to take advantage of the incentives available.

Ms. Lis Rosenholm, Ambassador of Denmark, appealed to Atif R.Bokhari, MoS/Chairman of the Investment Board (BOI), and Ms. Fareena Mazhar, Federal Secretary for BOI at BOI Islamabad, and exchanged views on areas of mutual interest, according to a press release issued here by BOI.

The Chairman of the BOI congratulated the Danish investors and ensured the support and facilitation of the Board of Investment. Joint projects and equity investments were also addressed by both parties to extend the Pakistan-Danish economic partnership.

The Chairman of the BOI appreciated the efforts of Ambassador Lis Rosenholm of Denmark on investment prospects in different sectors and concessions given to investors in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

The BOI Chairman concluded by reaffirming the support of the BOI to ensure the progress of the joint objective of diversifying the portfolio of bilateral investments.

The Danish Ambassador expressed interest in the renewable energy sector and expressed interest in the discovery of investment opportunities in the sector by Danish companies upon the completion of the AEDB’s Renewable Energy Policy Competitive Bidding Guidelines.

The Ambassador appreciated the change in the country’s economic landscape and hoped that more Danish firms would invest in Pakistan and take advantage of the incentives available.

The Secretary BOI briefed on the various regulatory regime changes and the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) .
