Under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Pakistan and China reiterated the need to increase agricultural cooperation (CPEC).

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong and Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Syed Fakhar Imam agreed, according to a study published by Gwadar Pro, that when they met here a day earlier, there was a huge potential in the agricultural sector.

It was a fruitful and meaningful meeting. After the conference, Chinese envoy Nong Rong tweeted, exchanging views on improving agricultural cooperation under the CPEC.

The second phase of the CPEC will concentrate on industrial cooperation, agriculture, science and technology, tourism and other fields.

The government of Pakistan is keen on fostering agricultural cooperation under the CPEC. The government believes a green revolution in Pakistan will offer enhanced cooperation with China in corporate and joint farming.

Agriculture is the key avenue where Pakistan and China can cooperate to broaden and multiply their economic ties, Minister Syed Fakhar Imam said. Imam said China has built its agricultural universities on modern lines with international research standards, which annually generate a significant number of experts and scientists.
