Pakistan getting success in economic field, says governor

Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar of Punjab said Sunday that Pakistan is achieving economic growth following the government’s successful economic policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“For the first time, Pakistan’s exports to the UK exceeded one billion mark and the country is set to get its rightful place in the world in the economic field,” he said; adding: “Revolution is taking place in the industrial sector in Punjab due to government policies and new employment opportunities are also being made available to the people.”

While speaking to PTI staff and media at the headquarters of Zafar Sindhu, a central member of the PTI, the Governor claimed that the incumbent government is also addressing, on a priority basis, the problems of the business community.

In response to a question, he claimed that the general elections would take place only after the government had completed its term. As the government pursues a policy of full adherence to accountability and merit, he said, there is a strong dissent among the PDM. The Governor said the people are standing with government policies, not with the opposition parties, and we are taking measures to provide relief even in tough times to the people in every region.

He said the government’s first priority is the devolution of power to the lower level, and as soon as we resolve Corona, local bodies will hold elections in Punjab.
