Seth Abid dies

On Friday, one of Pakistan’s wealthiest citizens, Abid Hussain, who was commonly known as Seth Abid, passed away. He’d been 85.

As Pakistan’s first richest person, Seth Abid can be identified. Seth Abid came from Kasur and his father was a major name in the bullion market of Karachi.

Following Asar prayers at Hafiz Ayaz Mosque, Phase 2 Security, Karachi, his funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow.

Monitoring Desk adds that he is also said to be one of the owners of Lahore’s broad housing business. He ran several charities as well.

It is said that when Pakistan was barred from importing nuclear reprocessing plants by the US government, it was Seth Abid who delivered the nuclear reprocessing plant from France by sea to Pakistan.

Seth Abid died in Karachi after a brief struggle with an illness, according to family sources.
