Pakistan’s exports to UK exceed $1 billion

For the first time in history, Pakistan’s exports to the United Kingdom exceeded $1 billion in the first 6 months of the financial year.

In a Twitter post, Abdul Razzaq Dawood, trade advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan, said Pakistan’s exports to the UK exceeded $1 billion in the first six months of each financial year. Exports to the United Kingdom rose by 21 percent to USD 1,029 million for Jul-Dec 2020, compared to USD 852 million in Jul-Dec 2019.

He said these exports increased by 47 percent to USD 189 million in Dec 2020 compared to USD 129 million in Dec 2019.

Razzaq Dawood congratulated exporters for this achievement and urged them to make efforts to gain a greater share of the market.

The Advisor also commended the efforts of MOC Trade Officers in the United Kingdom and urged them to work harder to find opportunities for exporters and to provide Pakistani businessmen with facilitation.
