The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and a team of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Peshawar on Thursday agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate the business community.

The agreement between SCCI and PIA will be signed. It is intended to provide the business community with enhanced and timely facilities via the national flag carrier. This was said during a meeting at the House of the Chamber between SCCI President Sherbaz Bilour and a PIA Peshawar team led by District Manager Saima Aslam.

Also present were Manzoor Elahi and Junaid Altaf, senior vice president and vice president of the chamber, Samiullah and Muhammad Daud of the PIA.

Sherbaz Bilour asked the PIA to announce special offers and offer business community packages, in particular in the field of cargo service.

He stressed that to promote the business community, a single-window operation should be introduced. Sherbaz Bilour said that, for this reason, the SCCI will introduce a special incentive scheme for the business community in partnership with various private institutions and companies. He added that, for that reason, a special card will be given to SCCI members.

In order to help attract traders, exporters and importers to national airlines to make the PIA a profit-making organization, the SCCI chief asked the PIA to take steps to provide incentives to the business community at all levels.

Earlier, the head of the PIA team, Saima Aslam, told the meeting about the different packages, schemes and facilities provided across the country by the PIA.

The PIA team agreed to the SCCI suggestions, ensuring that the proposals will be communicated in letter and spirit with the PIA senior management to incorporate them.
