Abdul Aleem Khan, the newly appointed Federal Minister for the Board of Investment (BOI), embarked on his official duties by visiting the BOI headquarters on Tuesday. This visit followed his oath-taking ceremony the previous day, marking the commencement of his tenure.
During his visit, Khan received a comprehensive briefing on the key initiatives and priorities of the board from Additional Secretary Ambreen Iftakhar and Executive Director Khashi ur Rehman, as stated in a press release issued by the board.
The statement highlighted Khan’s extensive experience in public service and his steadfast commitment to economic development, underscoring his valuable addition to the BOI. His appointment reflects the government’s dedication to fostering investment and promoting economic growth in Pakistan, the statement added.
Born on March 5, 1972, in Lahore, Khan graduated from Government College, Lahore, in 1992. Transitioning from a successful businessman to a dedicated public servant, Khan served as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from 2003 to 2007. During this tenure, he held the esteemed position of Minister for Information Technology.
In the General Elections of 2018, Khan was re-elected to the Punjab Assembly for a second term. He assumed the role of Minister for Local Government & Community Development from 2018 to 2019, and subsequently served as the Senior Minister for Food from 2019 to 2021.
With his wealth of experience and proven dedication to public service, Abdul Aleem Khan is poised to play a pivotal role in driving investment and economic development initiatives as the Federal Minister for BOI.
