Lucky Motor Corporation Limited (LMC) – formerly KIA Lucky Motors Pakistan Limited – has issued a safety alert for its Sportage versions, advising consumers to have their vehicles inspected owing to a “potential electrical issue” that could result in “safety hazards”
The company’s statement comes on the heels of Hyundai Nishat Motors’ May recall of its Tucson automobiles over a safety risk.
LMCL published a statement to this effect on Friday, dubbed Lucky Motor’s Special Safety Service Campaign.
To determine the source of the problem and rectify it, the firm has encouraged Sportage owners to bring their vehicles to an authorised dealer for inspection.
Dealerships will replace malfunctioning HECU fuse kits that pose a fire hazard if necessary. “We believe in proactively addressing potential hazards to ensure the continued safety and satisfaction of our valued customers,” LMCL stated, adding that both the inspection and component replacement will be performed at no charge. Customers can also visit companies’s website to check if their car is included in the list of affected vehicles.
Hyundai Nishat Motor recalled over 1,600 Tucson vehicles in Pakistan last month due to a probable ABS module issue. The company informed customers in a message that the failure might “potentially short-circuit” and encouraged them to take their vehicle to a Hyundai dealership for inspection. The recall was limited to customers who received deliveries within the first four months of the August 2020 launch and who had a chassis number ranging from 0001 to 1611.
